Position Summary:
Guerdon is seeking a Forklift Operator/Materials Handler within our Shipping and Receiving Department. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with a high level of organization and a strong attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
· Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
· Organizing and securing stored materials
· Loading or unloading materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
· Performing routine post and pre-inspections of forklift equipment.
· Report to supervisor any damage to racks, equipment, or other safety hazards.
· Weigh products/materials and record weight on labels and tags.
· Ability to work with all diverse types of people
· Performing other duties as needed by manager or supervisor.
· Ship, receive, deliver supplies, materials and equipment
· Maintain inventory control and records
· Carry and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
· Verify quantity and quality of order, verify items received against purchase order
· Retrieve and deliver supplies to and from storage area, tag and issue supplies and rotate inventory.
· Prepare damage claims for supervisor’s review and signature
· Manage records retention
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
· Previous construction product knowledge required
· Basic math skills addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
· Experience handling, storing, shipping materials or supplies
· Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast paced environment
· Ability to operate forklifts/Hysters and will be tested to certify safe operation
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
· Skilled in the operation and control of hand tools (tape measure, hammer, screwdrivers, chop saw, utility knife, etc.) and pneumatic tools and equipment (nail guns, screw guns, sprayers etc.)
- Proficient knowledge in construction of homes and other structures
- Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment
- Safety conscious
- Ability to work overtime hours if and when necessary
- Finish carpentry
- Tile work
- Forklift operator certification required

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating construction sites.
· Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed to inspect work sites.
· Capable of working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather, dust, and noise typical of construction sites.
· Ability to use hands to operate office equipment and construction-related tools.
· Visual acuity to read blueprints, technical documents, and computer screens.
· Hearing ability to communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
